Since the worsening and intensification of natural disasters, particularly drought and global warming, considerable efforts have been made to combat both the global shortage of affordable water, pollution, and the degradation of river and lake water quality, primarily in developed countries.

Water reuse and recycling are a certain solution to address this water scarcity and represent a milestone, politically recognized by many countries, in terms of the advantages and benefits they could create.

Water reuse brings numerous financial and non-financial benefits. Special attention is therefore crucial when comparing it to other projects. OZOVAL develops systems for wastewater treatment and recycling, utilizing its new hybrid ozonation technology, without the use of chemicals and with perfect disinfection.

The non-financial benefits are primarily:
The reduction of nutrient discharges into the receiving environment
The reduction of potable water treatment costs
Improvement of public health and the environment
Preservation of recreational and tourist areas

Recent global experience in this field, particularly in Australia, South Africa, and the United States, clearly confirms the financial benefits, such as the reduction of effluent quantities, the construction of satellite processes for reliable treatment, and the sale of recycled water. Water reuse is a rapidly growing field.

Numerous technical solutions are being developed to meet the required reuse standards. Extensive processes (ponding, infiltration-percolation, infiltration into the soil and aquifers, wetlands) are easy to acquire, cost-effective, but require large areas and the quality of treatment is not always guaranteed.

Intensive methods such as filtration, physicochemical treatments, membranes, and advanced disinfection processes (chlorination, UV, ozonation) ensure better water quality for various uses and are much more compact.

Water recycling is the only significant alternative and an interesting option to address both environmental protection and agricultural (irrigation), industrial, and urban needs, with costs largely depending on the process and technique implemented. Our project, based on an innovative new technology, aligns with this approach, while ensuring better water quality and competitive production costs. We develop advanced technologies that guarantee wastewater reuse without chemicals, while ensuring optimal disinfection through our unique hybrid ozonation system.
